City Involves Students to Minimize Potential Violations of Trantibum Early on

The Jakarta Provincial Government, inaugurated the Jakarta Prabu 2023 (Student Ambassador of Trantibum) to prevent potential violations in matters of peace and public order (trantibum) early on.

So, they must first be a good example

It was participated by 500 high school and equivalent students, at the Jakarta Education Agency (Disdik) Office, Gatot Subroto, South Jakarta.

On that occasion, Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono said Jakarta Prabu must be the pioneer and agent who can carry out the transition well. Trantibum could be started early, especially in the school environment, thus it becomes a good, orderly, and safe place for all students.

"Thereby, students are comfortable conducting their activities. Besides that, they can socialize local government policies regarding regulations that must be obeyed and become good examples in the school environment," he expressed, in the Jakarta Provincial Government's press release, Tuesday (10/24).

He also advised that unacceptable actions, such as smoking, brawls, drugs, vandalism, and others, could be suppressed and minimized.

"So, they must first be a good example for their other friends. We entrust Jakarta Prabu to monitor and foster positive activities," he added.

Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Arifin explained protection of the people in the Jakarta area could start early through education.

He added several Satpol PP personnel would not be enough to maintain the public order in Jakarta so they needed to work together with the community to make this happen.

"We also believe that the indicator of success in maintaining order is not the increasing number of actions taken against violators of regional regulations. But, the indicator of success that we want to aim for is the community's increasing understanding and compliance with all existing regulations," explained Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Arifin.

He also revealed that the Jakarta Government keeps creating an atmosphere in Jakarta that is increasingly safe, and orderly, thus people feel comfortable living in Jakarta.

Jakarta Satpol PP would build synergy with the Jakarta Education Agency (Disdik) together with schools in running various programs to develop an understanding of the transition and protect the community early on.

"We're also trying an innovation, namely presenting Jakarta Prabu. Hopefully, they will provide a positive color to combat disgraceful behavior in the school environment," he stated.
